8 Tips to Make Your Website Profitable

1. Your website's template and design should relevant to your site’ title and content. You wouldn't want to use a dog graphic header on an e-commerce website that sells cell phones.

2. Whenever you have added new articles and content to your site let your visitors know immediately. You can do this by alerting your visitors using email. This will increase the numbers of people revisiting your web site.

3. Let your visitors know about your email address or even telephone number on your website. This offers a way to visitors to contact you to ask for more information and assistant which will enable you to build good relationship with your visitors. And those who are in the same niches may contact you requesting for potential joint venture for making more money online.

4. Provide an option to your visitors to view your website offline. You can offer it by autoresponder or printer friendly version.

5. Make sure your web content is original and targeted to your audience to avoid being seen as spamming by search engines. Search engines are good sources of high quality targeted traffic to your website in long term. So you don’t want to be blacklisted by them. You don’t need to make your content 100% original, 60% original or higher is safe enough.

6. Give your visitors a good reason to come back to your site. You may try to give incentives to encourage them revisiting your site like providing free games, adding entertaining videos frequently, allowing free downloads such as ebooks and software that are useful to your visitors.

7. Customize you website in logical and profitable sequence. You don't want people to see your freebies before they learn about what products you are offering. Identify what actions you want people to take when they are visiting your website that will make you profitable and then organize your site accordingly to entice people to take that action. If you main purpose is to earn money with cost-per-click ads programs such as AdSense, YPN, etc; you’ll want your visitors to click on your CPC ads to earn money. So you’ll need to place your CPC ads in the areas that will be easily seen by people when they first landed on your home page.

8. If you’re selling products or services or offering something free to use on your website. Don’t forget to add a FAQs section on your website that will answer your visitors and users questions immediately. This will simply make your visitors more happier visiting your site or using your free service as they are getting immediate assistance reading your FAQs.

How to increase traffic to your blog?

These are some tips which can help to increase traffic to a blog.

1. Submit your blog to search engines/directories.

2. Try to participate in many discussion forums and actively involve in the discussions (don’t forget to add your blog url in each posts or in signature).
There are plenty of discussion forums, but I found digital point discussion forum and bloggerforum quite useful. One can use google adsense groups also successfully to bring traffic in to a blog.

3. Use Mybloglog

Using Mybloglog is quite useful one to bring traffic. If you want to read the post about Myblolog, please click here.

4. Read other blogs and leave a comment (don’t spam other blogs, just leave a comment when it is really necessary).

5. Register in technorati. Add technorati tag in all your posts.I am not yet quite successful in bringing traffic from technorati. But I hope it will change soon.

6. Ping using pingoat and google blog search.

7. Register in feedburner and feed your blog.

8. Find who are your visitors and where you can reach them easily. If you find where you can reach your visitors, your task of advetising and driving traffic will be quite easier.

9. You can use social networks like orkut, hi5 and mylot successfully to bring traffic to your blog/site.

10. Build inbound links by submitting your articles in different websites and blogs.reddit, digg, del.icio.us, hubpages are some example networks for submitting your articles. In the above four hubpages share their income with you. So try to submit your articles in hubpages and earn some income as well.

11. Advertise your blog. One can also do free or cheap advertising for bringing traffic in. I am thinking of getting traffic by doing some advertisement.Adwords, Adcenter, adbrite and YPN are some examples.

12. Give useful outbound links.

13. Optimize your blog to be search engine friendly.

14. Update your blog regularly and try to fill your blog with useful/good contents.

By doing previous 12 things you can make many people to visit your blog/website. But to make them come again, you need good contents in your blog. Try to write a new content regularly and try to improve your writing style. Of course at the beginning it is difficult to be good, but one improve.

In my opinion these are quite enough for starters to bring at least 100 visitors per day in a month time.

Tips for Improving AdSense Performance

Most AdSense publishers are working to increase their revenue from the AdSense program.

Here are a few tips to get you on the right track.

1. Tear Down the BordersRemove borders on your AdSense ads. Web visitors eyes wander around the screen, and borders stop them from wandering.Removing borders from your AdSense ads can lead to a significant boost in CTR.

2. Use Matching FontsMatch the font of your site content to the fonts of the AdSense ads.

3. Use Matching ColorsMatch the colors of your AdSense ads to the colors of your site content. Make the ads look like content and more visitors will look at them. One exception to the color matching rule is sites that are designed to appeal to scammers and spammers. Those sites sometimes perform better with highly contrasting colors.

4. Use Blue LinksAnother exception to the color matching rule is to set the links in your AdSense ads to blue. Blue links tend to have a higher CTR than other link colors, because people have become used to clicking blue links.

5. Use Big AdsLarger ads outperform smaller ads. Wider ads also outperform more narrow ads.The Large Rectangle (336x280) is the best performing ad unit.

6. Use Lots of AdsGoogle allows you to use three ad units and one link unit on each page.Use them all. The more ads you have, the higher your Page CTR will be.

7. Place Ads Above the Fold"The fold" is industry jargon for "the part of the page that the user sees without scrolling down". This will vary depending upon the resolution of the users screen and the size of their browser window.Place as many ads as possible above the fold. Ads placed below the fold are seldom seen and seldom clicked.

8. Place Ads on the LeftWeb users are accustomed to seeing menus on the left side of the web page. Move your menu to the right and place your AdSense ads on the left.

9. Use the Heat MapUse the Google AdSense Heat Map to determine where to place ads. The darker spots are areas where users spend more time looking. Place your ads in the darker areas.

10. Integrate Ads with ContentVisitors will be reading your content. Keeps your ads as close to your content as possible to ensure that the visitors also look at your ads.

11. Use Custom ChannelsUse AdSense's Custom Channels to test the performance of different ad sizes, placements, colors and fonts.

12. Don't use Low-Paying Competing AdsDon't clutter your page with competing ads that don't pay. If a user clicks on an ad that pays you $.01, they are not clicking on an ad that pays you $.20.

13. Use URL ChannelsUse AdSense URL Channels to determine which pages are making you the highest CTR, CPM, and earnings. Focus your efforts on building pages like that.

14. Use an AdSense Reporting PackageGoogle only supports 200 channels. If you have more than 200 pages, use AdSense reporting software to give you better insight into your AdSense earnings.

15. Don't Compete for Other Peoples High Paying KeywordsIf a keyword is on a list of high-paying keywords, that means that thousands of spammers are already competing for that keyword.Don't be a follower. There is no money in being one of the crowd.

16. Do Compete for Your Own High Paying KeywordsMonitor your AdSense URL channels to determine which keywords are making you the most money. Compete for those keywords. Build more pages optimized for similar keywords. Get inbound links for those keywords. Spend your time and efforrt on the keywords which are making you money.

17. Increase TrafficIn the long run, the best way to increase AdSense revenue is to increase traffic to your web site.

Getting rich is not the result of saving, or "thrift";
many very penurious people are poor, while free spenders often get
rich. *Viral Resistance: As a reader, my biggest concern when I download from the net, is
the transference of viruses. I didn't have much money to spend, and some friends had told me that you could get a free laptop by signing up with a new broadband provider, or new mobile phone provider.
